The culinary offerings at Island Cafe are a celebration of bold, fresh flavors and comforting textures that instantly make your mouth water. Start your meal with addictive starters like the Fire Dusted Calamari, perfectly crispy and paired with a smoky chipotle aioli, or delve into the Jumbo Shrimp Cocktail, boasting plump, chilled shrimp and tangy cocktail sauce. For something shareable, the Onion Petals provide a delightful twist on classic onion rings, served with creamy ranch dressing that complements their golden crunch.

Seafood lovers will find their paradise in dishes like the Hand Beer Battered Alaskan Halibut Fish & Chips, where the flaky halibut is encased in a perfectly crisp, airy batter contrasted by thick-cut fries. The Island Burger and Hawaiian Burger showcase juicy, expertly grilled patties paired with fresh toppings and unique island flair. For a lighter yet deeply satisfying option, the Wild Ahi Tuna Salad offers rare-seared tuna atop fresh avocado slices, creating a harmony of flavors that excite your palate.

Tacos here are elevated with freshness and zest—the Island Soft Tacos, made with your choice of flour or corn tortillas, come loaded with crisp cabbage, vibrant pico de gallo, and a luscious jalapeño ranch dressing. Served alongside house-made tortilla chips and mango salsa, this dish embodies the perfect balance of spice, sweetness, and crunch.

Such a fun experience. Felt like I was back at the Jersey Shore—or on vacation somewhere! Great friendly service, a wonderful atmosphere, good food, and delicious drinks. I especially loved the “floating” restaurant experience of being right on the water.

Great atmosphere! My mom and I had a wonderful time. While we were there, boats arrived at the dock to come eat lunch, it was neat to watch. Fish and chips and pulled pork sandwich was great! Shrimp ceviche appetizer was delicious!

The service was good even though the restaurant was packed. Cold beer on a hot day on the river, what could be better? We didn't eat but the food looks delicious! Update: I had the food and it was delicious. I had a burger. I would have given a 5 star but I'm not a fan of large buns. The fries were excellent. I want to give a shout out to Jenn Blades. She runs a tight ship t and keeps the place in tip top shape. She helps provide a pleasant atmosphere for all!

If you love an easy Jimmy Buffett feelin atmosphere that serves great food and has great waitstaff then This is a place to be. My favorite are the ahi seared tuna tacos with the mango salsa and the coconut shrimp with onion petals.... They have done something for everybody.

I drove down Portland from Olympia today to have a celebratory lunch with a friend. Being her birthday, she had picked out this restaurant, which of course is right on the water. And I have to say that I was impressed with the super service that we had and the delicious meal that we enjoyed. We were there for lunch and it was drop dead gorgeous 72° sunny boats going by all the good stuff that you expect at a waterfront restaurant. Even boats, pulling up to the dock outside of the restaurant! It all made for a pleasant experience with the ambience being what it was and the wait staff just doing such a terrific job. Thank you! The food was great, I had Pacific fried oysters, and my friend had the lobster wrap.
